Designed to ensure investment protection through backward compatibility, all Plasmon G-Series libraries support 60GB UDO-2, 30 GB UDO-1 (Ultra Density Optical) and previous generation MO (Magneto Optical) storage technologies within the same library. State-of-the-art features such as dual picker, barcode reader, hot/warm swappable drives, redundant power supplies and the highest duty cycles in the industry combine to provide maximum performance and minimum downtime. With a comprehensive product family that accommodates archive requirements from workgroup to enterprise, the Plasmon G-Series family offers Entry Level, Midrange and Enterprise configurations from 720GB to over 19TB of archival storage capacity. Flexible Archive Solutions

Plasmon UDO archive technology is based on an extremely stable and robust storage media that is built to provide secure, long-term archival storage. As a removable media, UDO also offers very cost effective archive expansion and disaster recovery by employing off-line media strategies in combination with Plasmon's UDO Archive Appliance and G-Series libraries. Second generation UDO2 has a storage capacity of 60GB per media, with a roadmap extending to 120GB and 240GB in future generations.

In order to address a wide range of archive requirements, UDO media is available in Rewritable and two different WORM (Write Once Read Many) media formats. These three media types allow you the flexibility to mix and match the different media formats with the specific demands of your archive environment. UDO media uses a patented Phase Change technology, which produces a very stable recording surface that is highly tolerant of temperature and humidity conditions. With a media life in excess of 50 years, a UDO archive strategy can dramatically reduce the frequency of data migration and extend the operational life of your archive.
