QLogic's quad data rate (QDR) end-to-end InfiniBand solutions are to be exhibited at the International Supercomputing Conference in Hamburg, Germany next week.

Delegates are promised the chance to witness "numerous" advantages - comprising both business benefits and technological plus points - that can be derived from implementing the hardware. Host channel adapters and the recently announced 12000 Series, designed for networking environments of speeds of up to 40 gigabits per second (Gbps), are to be on show to those in attendance.

"QLogic will demonstrate superior performance benchmarks in throughput, message rate and message passing interface latency," the company says.

The 12000 Series was announced as being generally available earlier this month and comprises both edge and director switches operating to QDR InfiniBand speeds of 40 Gbps.

Jesse Parker, vice-president and general manager of QLogic's network solutions group, called the release a "significant milestone" in the evolution of InfiniBand technology for high-performance computing environments.
