Architectural firm Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) has deployed Riverbed's wide area network (WAN) optimisation solutions to enhance disaster recovery and improve collaboration between employees, it has been revealed.
RSHP has 140 employees worldwide in offices located in cities including Madrid, London, Tokyo and Barcelona, who were previously finding it difficult to access files over the company's WAN.
With RSHP also looking to implement a disaster recovery site, its existing infrastructure left the firm facing significant costs to install a 100 Mbps network connection.
Instead, it chose to implement Riverbed's solutions - and saw remote access speeds improve by 80 per cent as a result.
Network manager Seamus Conway says: "In addition, we were able to enhance our now-centralised disaster recovery solution between our headquarters and a third-party site using our current internet link."
The news follows a recent report from industry analyst Gartner that placed Riverbed ahead of its rivals in terms of market share in the WAN optimisation controllers segment.
