ASTI Plasmon UDO drives

Professional Archival Storage

Alliance Storage Technologies drives are engineered specifically for the demanding requirements of professional archival storage environments. Extremely high duty cycles provide you with reliable and long-term use. And rapid seek times and fast read/write speeds ensure access to your valuable archive data in seconds.

Alliance Storage Technologies offers both Internal Drives for use in automated libraries, and stand-alone Desktop Drives for small businesses and individual departments. Both models are available in first generation 30GB UDO1 and second generation 60GB UDO2 configurations.

Features and Benefits

Performance Optimized for Archiving:
The access and read/write performance of Alliance Storage Technologies drives is optimized for archive requirements. A 35 msec seek time combined with a maximum sustained read speed of 12 MB/sec delivers very fast random access to your data.

Simple Integration:
Alliance Storage Technologies drives use an industry-standard half-height form factor. They offer simple integration into robotic libraries and computer systems as either an Internal Drive or a stand-alone Desktop Drive.

Unmatched Media Longevity:
UDO media are designed for a 50+ year life minimizing data movement frequency, virtually eliminating media maintenance, and lowering costs.

Investment Protection:
Alliance Storage Technologies drives provide backward-read compatibility, with a roadmap to 240GB. UDO2 drives can read UDO1 30GB media.

Flexibility:
Alliance Storage Technologies drives support both WORM and Rewritable UDO Media formats in a single library or appliance.

UDO Internal Drive

UDO Internal Drive packages consist of a conventional UDO drive, but without an external enclosure or power supply. Using an industry standard half-height form factor, the UDO Internal Drive is designed for easy installation into automated libraries, computer servers, and specialized peripheral devices such as medical imaging equipment, digital recording devices, and document scanners.

The UDO Internal Drive provides an ideal solution for fully integrated applications and hardware solutions that require secure data archiving with the benefits of a robust removable media. UDO Internal Drives are delivered with or without software drivers for Windows and Linux, and are available individually or as an OEM product. UDO internal drives are available in first generation 30GB UDO1 and second generation 60GB UDO2 configurations.

UDO Desktop Drives

Alliance Storage Technologies’s UDO Desktop Drives bring professional archival storage to small office and departmental environments at an affordable price. Legal and accounting firms, engineering and design offices, publishing houses, healthcare facilities, and many other businesses will benefit from the high capacity, performance, and reliability of UDO Desktop Drives.

UDO Desktop Drives are available in first generation 30GB UDO1 and second generation 60GB UDO2 configurations.
