Configured with ultra fast SAS or SATA II 3Gb/s drives, the openNAS, SAN & NAS range of storage appliances with Open-E software can provide a RAID level 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 storage environments. Yielding the best storage capacities and performance in it’s respective classes, the openNAS range of storage appliances offer flexibility, fault tolerance, speed and data security.

Dividing data into 2TB increments is inefficient and has become a storage management nightmare. The storage volume array limitations in Windows are eliminated with the openNAS and iSCSI range of storage appliances and as an added benefit this also eliminates the need to create dynamic disks and spanned volumes therefore attaining larger storage capacities making storage management a breeze whilst keeping optimal redundancy at all times.

The chassis are rugged and reliable and designed to exceed the power, cooling and rotational vibration requirements of today’s high speed hard disk drives. • Shadow copy snapshots
  By creating scheduled snapshots of shared data, accidentally deleted or overwritten files can be automatically restored – no need to restore from tape.
• Data replication
  Replicate data between iSCSI SAN & NAS devices over a standard Ethernet network using built in Mirroring software. Data is synchronised based only on the changes made, minimising network traffic. Data Replication can be over a LAN (Local Area Network) or WAN (Wide Area Network). Synchronous or Asynchronous.

Open-E iSCSI Overview: 

iSCSI is a technology designed to carry SCSI commands and data across an IP network. It enables a server (initiator) to send SCSI commands and data to a storage device (target) over a TCP/IP based network in IP pockets.

We are proud to offer the first solution that is designed for all sizes of companies from SME to Large Corporates. The high availabilty feature is built in to the openNAS at no additional cost.

To create an automatic failover solution, you just need two of our openNAS Storage  Appliances and you are all set.

Setup of the failover solution can be done by any IT Administrator within one hour (technical help is always available by phone or email). And following the quick setup guide could not be easier (even for first time openNAS users).
